Public Weighs in on Master Plan in Zone One

The first public input meeting was held for the New Plan for Mobile master plan in Zone One (downtown and midtown west corridor). A great turnout of about 400 citizens and business owners was there to provide valuable contributions to the planning firm, EDSA, Inc. Those who turned out were polled on different aspects of the plan including what they would like to see modified in their area. Some of the suggestions included shopping centers, better parking and more police protection. This phase of the planning process gives EDSA an idea of what the City majority wants the area to become in the future.

Also on hand were representatives from the City of Mobile and other members of the planning team. They include:

RKG Associates
Economic Development & Real Estate Focus

Assert Property Disposition
Community Planning and Housing Focus

Suzanne Turner Associates
Historic Preservation & Cultural Heritage Focus

Volkert Associates
Transportation, Parking & Infrastructure/Utilities Focus

This was the first public input meeting scheduled. For more information about the following meetings Click Here.
